Welcome to "WesPatterson.com".
If you're interested in genealogy research, feel free to go straight
to my genealogy home page. Otherwise, let me tell you a little about myself.
My name is Charles Wesley "Wes" Patterson,
Sr., and I was born in 1968. I am married and have one son, Wesley, born in 1990. My wife (Ginna) and I (our
picture) live in Winston-Salem,
North Carolina (USA). We both worked for Wake
Forest University Baptist Medical Center (also known
as Bowman Gray School of Medicine) until May 31 of 2000
when Ginna "retired" to stay at home with
our son for the summer. Ginna has worked various jobs since that time and is currently staying at home to help with her father's needs.
I worked for the Medical School until 2007, at which time I accepted a position at MICA Information Systems, a medical software vendor located here in Winston-Salem. I love sports,
languages, history (American, Celtic, Biblical), genealogy,
and most of all, the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a born-again
Christian, and the son of former missionaries to the
Asian country of Bangladesh.
I spent about 5 years (1979-1984) in Bangladesh,
plus a few more months after high school during the
winter of '86-87. Those years in Bangladesh provided
many opportunities for experiences that I would not
have had otherwise. Here are some pictures
of some of our experiences in Bangladesh. This picture
is of me (left) and my father (right) standing in the
home of Jalal Ahmed (center) in the mid 1980's. Mr.
Ahmed was a good friend of ours, and was also a high
ranking official in the Bangladesh government his entire
life. During the 1970's and '80's he was Secretary of
Parliament, Minister of Defense, Minister of Education,
and he held many other offices, as well. I am truly
thankful to my parents for the experiences that I benefited
from during those years.
I graduated from High Point University's Evening Degree
Program on May 5, 2001, with a Bachelor of Science in
Computer Information Systems. I enjoy going to church
each week, but my favorite service at church is when
we observe the Lord's Supper each Sunday morning....to
remember what He (Jesus Christ) did for me when He gave
His life for me on the cross so that I might gain eternal
life (after this life, of course) if I will only believe
in Him and what He did....and confess to Him that I
am a sinner, saved by grace. This life is short, at
best, and I want to serve my Savior any way I can. And
I am most thankful that He allowed me to grow up in
a country such as the United States of America and to
experience all the freedoms and pleasures that we enjoy
in this country. I promise you....we in America are
the exception to the rest of the world. God bless America!
At this time, all of
my web site attention is being focused on my genealogy
interest. I am also very interested in
Biblical genealogies, but have not had much time to develop
that part of my website. At any rate, take a peek at
my genealogy pages, and let me know what you think.
Take care.
