Amy Jane Patterson was born ca 1823; 1824 at the latest. Her parents were married in February of 1823, and her brother Joseph B. Patterson was born in 1825. Amy was not listed with her parents in the 1840 Union Co GA census. I'm not sure where she was at the time. However, the 1850 Union Co GA mortality census lists an Amy Jane Patterson as having died in October of 1849, apparently this same Amy.
Amy was apparently named for her aunt, Amey Jane Patterson (Kincaid). She was described on the mortality census as age 26, born in NC. We know that the family was living in Haywood Co., NC in 1823, thus this must have been her birthplace.
