Ann Patterson was born in October of 1802 (according to Carol Ann Tindell), in Buncombe Co., NC. Ann (sometimes listed as Anna) never married. She lived with her parents until both of them passed away by the 1850s. I can't find her listed in the 1860 census for Union or Fannin counties in Ga. However, she is listed in Fannin Co., Ga in 1870 living with Lucinda Hicks. Both of these ladies had never married. Lucinda's sister Sallie Hicks had married John Patterson, Jr. which made Sallie the sister-in-law of Ann Patterson. I guess by 1870, Sallie Hicks Patterson had also passed away, so these two spinster ladies were taking care of each other.

I have not done a thorough check of the 1880 census to see if Ann was still alive. As far as I know, she was probably buried with John and Margaret Black Patterson, her parents. Some think that her parents were buried in what is called the Dunn-Patterson cemetery on Deaver Road off Highway 29 near Blairsville, Ga. This according to Wallace Emory "Pat" Patterson.
